Polar Plunge Winter Fest

The Polar Plunge Winter Fest heralds in the colder temperatures with an even chiller feat, a plunge in the icy Atlantic Ocean waters. All in support of the Special Olympics, this event sees some 3,000 participants dive deep or tickle their toes in the lapping waves to raise awareness and funds for the cause. A 5K race, school challenges, and many dips in the water are just a sampling of events you can partake in.

Neptune Festival

Perhaps the most iconic of the region, Neptune Festival is a celebration of the city, its family friendly environment, and the local community of residents and businesses. Since 1973, the festival has been hosting outstanding events, and some even continue year round, including the Symphony by the Sea Concert Series. A parade rings in the festivities, while the main event features a sand sculpting competition. Join the other half a million visitors each September!

Pungo Strawberry Festival

Welcome in the summer harvest on Memorial Day, with the help of the infamous Pungo Strawberry Festival. Join in on the carvinal, contests, and crafts, all the while enjoying strawberries and their inspired goodies. The festival started in 1983, and ever since it’s been a major attraction. Don’t forget to visit the pick-yourself farms nearby!

Chesapeake Jubilee

A PerfectHouse Team favorite, the Chesapeake Jubilee started as a 20th birthday celebration for the city in 1982. Today it’s a major event with live music, a carnival, and a fireworks show. For the foodies, the BBQ competition brings some of the best in the cook-off world, while the shrimp feast is a nod to the local seafood abundance. There’s also the more classic elements of a fair, including a livestock show and sale.
