Waterfront Homes In Virginia Beach

The history of waterfront homes in Virginia Beach begins before 1607, but that's the year that 105 men and boys arrived from England with Captain Newport. This group went inland, and Adam Thoroughgood arrived in the 1620s as an indentured servant. He earned his freedom and was elected to the House of Burgesses in 1629. Adam's great grandson built a home in the area of Virginia Beach, about 1720, which is now a museum. Adam Thoroughgood used the name "Norfolk" for the county after his home city in England.

The amphitheater, now called Farm Bureau Live at Virginia Beach, has had live concerts with such notables as Kenny Chesney, Coldplay, Taylor Swift and Ozzfest. The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center houses 12,000 animals and interesting information for visitors of all ages.

There are 11 golf courses in the area, so this may be a consideration for those looking at Beach Borough homes for sale. Real estate in Beach Borough near these golf courses is conveniently located, and there is extensive information on the "golf link" website. Boating resources are available a few miles north of Beach Borough along the Chesapeake Bay. Homes for sale in Beach Borough are not far from this area, especially in the northern sections. Fishing charters are easy to find near the beach, too.

Many community events, especially 5K and 10K races, take place in the first four months of the year in Virginia Beach before it gets too warm. The warm months' events are beach-focused and outdoors. The Virginia Beach Music Festival on Labor Day weekend is on the beach and hosts jazz, blues, rock, country and R&B artists. The last weekend of September brings the Neptune Wine Festival on the beach, and the International Sandsculpting Championship coincides with it for an added bonus. Naturally, great food is plentiful.
